Zombies Eat Flesh
posted by: | category:I will admit it, I am a fan of Zombie fiction. I don’t care whether it’s B-Grade budget or Hollywood extravaganza I’ll take them all. The lumbering dead reanimated and on a tireless quest for human flesh finishing off one victim and always ready to pounce on the next one that comes along. What is it about zombies that appeals so much?
I know what it is, Zombies are just like mountain bikers. Much like zombies, a single biker will stumble onto a new trail and just like zombies a cry will go out over the zombie grape-vine that there is fresh loam to be devoured and within minutes a horde will arrive and set to work consuming the trail, mud, rocks, slippery roots and all.
Though there are other parallels (like the smell of a DH riders kit) the most striking has to be the insatiable appetite for more of what they need to sustain themselves. Give a zombie some warm pink flesh and the moment he’s done sucking the marrow out of it’s bones he’s on to the next piece of flesh. Bikers are the same way, open up with 23 trails and that night the horde wants to know when the Canadian Open will be ready or when is Dirt Merchant gonna crack.
Fortunately I am ready for the Zombie Apocalypse and so subsequently have a plan for what to do when the undead rise. The same applies for the march of the mountain bikers – give them what they want one trail at a time. Drop the rope and move out of the way while the feeding frenzy ensues and they are distracted enough for you to sneak past undetected.
I guess in the worst case scenario I could get bit and turn into one of them, a zombie I mean ’cause, well I’m already a biker heading the call to attack new trails any time I hear about one.
For all you mud eating zombies out there we have added the following trails to the list this week, stay tuned for more as we get them tuned up:
- Upper Joyride
- EZ Does It
- Shady Acres
- Del Bocca Vista
- Upper Angry Pirate
- Lower Angry Pirate
